Frequently Asked Questions

DR. ALONZO is the only surgeon who performs all cosmetic surgery procedures at Beaufaces. Assisting him are licensed and skilled nurses and an experienced anesthesiologist. In your initial consultation, we will discuss in detail your recommended surgery, the procedure, expected outcome, risks and limitations.
With Dr. Alonzo’s over 30 years of experience and the thousands of patients he has already operated, he is already expert in all cosmetic surgery procedures. But his most common procedures are rhinoplasty (nose surgery), breast augmentation and reduction, blepharoplasty (sliteye and eyebag removal), removal of excessive underarm sweating and body odor, liposuction and penile enlargement.
A personal consultation is very important. Dr. Alonzo can answer this question upon evaluation of the patient. There are many things to consider like physical and emotional stress, psychiatric conditions and medical illness. The best candidate should be in a good physical and mental health, not going through major life stress, can understand the risks involved, willing to follow the pre- and post- operative instructions and lastly motivated by the desire of looking better.
Minor cosmetic surgery procedures are done in the clinic on an outpatient basis. However, major cosmetic procedures like breast enhancements, body contouring and facelift are done in the hospital and Dr. Alonzo requires an overnight stay for good and safe monitoring.
Dr. Alonzo advises to stop taking aspirin, vitamin E, anti- depressant drugs and diet pills for 1 to 2 weeks before the surgery as they can increase bleeding. Smoking should also be stopped two weeks before surgery because this is detrimental to healing. For breast surgery patients a mammogram test result is required before the surgery. For major procedures like liposuction, tummy tuck, breast augmentation, breast reduction, buttocks augmentation and facelift, a laboratory test is strictly mandatory before the surgery. Review the consent and after care instructions. For faster healing, Dr. Alonzo recommends an excellent nutrition, adequate rest and Vitamin C intake.
Dr. Alonzo will discuss which type of anesthesia is appropriate according to the length and difficulty of the procedures, patient’s health and preferences. Minor surgeries are completed under local anesthesia while major procedures entails general anesthesia which patients are completely asleep during the surgery and remember nothing of the experience.
Bandages placed at the surgery area will be removed 3 days after, while the stitches will be removed 5 to 10 days after surgery.
Recovery period depends primarily on the procedure and how quickly you heal. Most of the patients are able to resume light activity within 3 to 5 days and moderate activity after 7 to 10 days. More so, applying ice packs and warm compress can help reduce the days of swelling and bruising.
Medical and technological breakthroughs have made aesthetic improvements more lasting as well as safer and faster. And with proper care, your surgery can truly be an investment to last a lifetime.

Like in any other surgical operation, there may be bleeding, infection, scarring, slow healing, changes in skin sensation and pain. However, the clinics always take all necessary measures to avoid and minimize these risks.

Your safety and well-being is a main concern of Beaufaces. And with a policy of HONESTY, Dr. Alonzo and his staff will help you understand the procedure and the risks involved in your recommended treatment.
