Dr. Alonzo is one of the most sought-after, well-respected cosmetic surgeons in the Philippines to date. Since May 1987, Dr. Alonzo has been in active practice of his craft that made him one of the solid foundations of cosmetic surgery in the country.

Dr. Alonzo possesses the outstanding qualities of a true master of cosmetic surgery--- his skilled hands, eye for beauty and his more than 20 years of wisely utilizing such has instigated mixed reactions of awe, excitement, happiness and gratitude from his patients after seeing the successful results of their surgery.

This knack for his craft as a doctor and as an artist did not escape the eyes of many award-giving bodies and groups.

His efforts were brought to light as he was awarded prestigious citations and titles. The Philippine Academy for Aesthetic Surgery (PAAS), an organization where he served as president for two consecutive years, was one of those groups that acknowledged Dr. Alonzo’s significant contributions in his professional field. He received the Leadership Award and Recognition Award as PAAS President, Board Member and Faculty in 2005 and 2006.

The Rotary Club, where he was an active member of, distinguished his contributions not only in his work as a cosmetic surgeon, but also his ideal performance as a competent leader and a generous volunteer. In 2000, Dr. Alonzo’s contributions towards the Rotary Club culminated with his acceptance of the Governor Millennium Award for Leadership and Service and the Presidential Citation Award bestowed by Gov. Mo Libunao. He also became a Paul Harris Fellow in the same year.

Since then, recognitions started pouring unstoppably in Dr. Alonzo’s direction. He was awarded the Rotary District Award and the Outstanding and Excellence Award by the Rotary Club International.

Other esteemed awards credited under his name are: the Service Award from the Knights of Columbus Padre Doro Council; and the Professional Excellence Award from Media Writers Association, just to name a few.

“I feel honoured and grateful when someone recognizes the merits of my craft. But a true winner should focus more on acquiring things that are beyond material gains,” Dr. Alonzo said humbly.

Aside from the professional recognition and financial stability he gets from his profession, he says that he receives a sense of fulfilment because of the friends he has gained in the practice. Dr. Alonzo points out that success in the field of cosmetic surgery should be founded on ethics and winning the trust of their patients. “If you deal with your patients with professionalism and transparency springing from your genuine concern for them, they become your friends and you establish a network of people.”

If asked on how he was able to gain the trust of his patients, the multi-awarded doctor explained that, “beforehand, I always clarify with my patients what their expectations are and what I can do to help them. I do not want them to raise false hopes. Maybe that is the reason why I have a lot of patients because I always treat them fairly.”

Many of Dr. Alonzo’s patients testified that they see him as a trustworthy man who is truly concerned of their welfare. No wonder he has already satisfied thousands of men and women who sought his help as a cosmetic surgeon.

An award-winning cosmetic surgeon is not defined by skill alone. Dr. Alonzo proves that a cosmetic surgeon is an artist with a heart for his patients. "I want to be regarded as a cosmetic surgeon with heart and compassion for my colleagues and patients. Cosmetic surgery is more of ethics and winning the trust of our patients. Competition might be very stiff in this profession, but it should be a healthy competition. We must not bicker at each other to preserve the quality and credibility of our profession," Dr. Alonzo concludes.
